A standard PIM, MAM and cross-media solution was implemented for Publicare on the basis of the crossbase standard software. The starting point is the interface to Navision. This connection is used to forward all sales items, including logistical data, to the PIM system and to post them regularly. The Navision data is then enriched in the PIM system with extensive product features, product relationships, images, documents and texts and mapped in the various market- and media-specific product views. This includes in particular the three printed main catalogs with approx. 750 pages and direct access to the product information from Navision.
The Navision data is transferred to crossbase nightly via the standard XML interface. This involves approx. 15 data fields including price fields. During the data transfer, the article is activated or deactivated in crossbase based on the product status. crossbase.office can also be started directly from the Navision item card and the corresponding product information for the item can be viewed. The product information, e.g. images, texts and product features, can then be transferred to a Word document at the touch of a button.
The printed catalogs are so-called language mix catalogs, i.e. the languages German and French are mixed on one page. The formatting can be set using language mixer rules. The wrapping is controlled via flow frames, whereby the condition applies that the table blocks should only be wrapped in their entirety. The table block itself consists of images, texts and product features. An important part of the catalog is the keyword and product index, which are also generated automatically. The new website was also implemented via a connection to the crossbase database. The product information is transferred to the website's CMS via the API server.
